Blow You Away: The Tornado and Twinado powers summon a tornado that chases and destroys ghosts.Ascended Glitch: The game is an entire reference to the "Level 256" Kill Screen glitch in the original arcade game.The game is called Pac-Man 256, the Advancing Wall of Doom is known as the "256 Glitch" and eating 256 dots in a row awards the player a Smart Bomb that kills all on screen ghosts. 2.0 switched over to "coins" on the console and PC versions which could be collected in game and could be used to immediately unlock these features. Allegedly Free Game: Mobile version 1.0 used microtransactions to unlock power-ups if they were already used before and the player did not want to wait for a 24 hour pay clock.Advancing Wall of Doom: The 256 glitch is constantly corrupting the back part of the maze and Pac-Man is instantly killed if it catches up to him.If he comes into contact with a ghost or the power-up expires, Pac-Man detonates and kills all ghosts within a set radius around him. Action Bomb: The Bomb power causes Pac-Man to turn red.This release also marked the game's debut release for the Nintendo Switch. The console version of the game was rereleased in 2022 as part of the Pac-Man Museum + Compilation Rerelease. In addition to the standard power pellets, there are other power-ups Pac-Man can obtain and use in game. In a reference to the "level 256 glitch" seen in the original arcade game, Pac-man's primary threat is a giant glitch dimension that is slowly consuming the level and will kill him if he falls behind. The game take the same traditional maze formula the series is known for and turns it into an endless runner. Pac-Man 256 is an Endless Runner game and an entry into the Pac-Man series developed by Hipster Whale & 3 Sprockets and published by Namco and released initially as a mobile game on Augfollowed by ports to PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on June 21, 2016.
